Black Paper Crafts That Sparkle and Shine

We are going to show you how to make our favorite black paper crafts that sparkle and shine! With a new season comes new opportunities to get creative. Black paper is one of our favorite materials to make colors pop and stand out. It's a great way to think outside of the box for your typical arts and crafts. These activities are perfect for all ages and can be adjusted to any skill level.

Frankenstein

  1. First, with your paper plate in front of you, let’s start by painting the backside of your plate green. In order to get that bright green look Frankenstein has we recommend using the Chroma Blends Neon Watercolor Set.
  2. After Frankenstein dries, we will make his eyes and his hair. With your scissors, cut out two white circles out of your Paper Works Sketch Book. Next, cut out two black circles, these should be smaller than the white ones.
  3. Still using your Paper Works Sketch Book cut out Frankenstein’s hair.
  4. With your glue, glue each of your items in place.
  5. Finally, Frankenstein often has scar lines on his face. In order to make those, draw them on with your Twisty Stix.

Black Cat

  1. First, pull one piece of paper from your Black DIY Cover Sketch Book. Next, you are going to wrap that sheet around your toilet paper role.
  2. With your glue, glue your black sheet of piece of paper into place.
  3. Now after that is done, it is time to make the face. Let’s start by making his ears. With another sheet of black paper cut out two small triangles.
  4. Using your Chroma Blends Pearlescent Watercolor Set, paint his ears any color you like.
  5. Next while that dries, lets glue on your googly eyes.
  6. For this last step, let’s make his whiskers and his nose. In order to do this, gently add them on by squeezing out Dot A Lot Neon’s Bright Craft Paint.
Want to keep going? One fun way, you can add to your cat is by turning him into a puppet. You can do this by gluing on a popsicle stick. Don’t forget to decorate your stick!

Fall Time Bucket List Leaf Craft

For our third black papercraft, we are going to make a fall time bucket list. Let’s start by grabbing our supplies listed below.
  1. First things first, using your pencil, trace your hand onto a blank black page in your paper works sketch book.
  2. Outline the trace of your hand with your Totally Taffy Gel Pens. (This will help your drawing stand out on the page).
  3. Using your Chroma Blends Neon Watercolor Set, paint the inside of your handprint. Since we are turning this into a leaf, we recommend using the colors, orange, yellow, or red.
  4. After that dries, it is time to paint on a brown stem with your Chroma Blends Pearlescent Watercolor Set.
  5. For the last step, using your Totally Taffy Gel Pens, write out your fall time bucket list. What are a few things you would like to do this fall season? Are you feeling uncertain, we wrote down, go apple picking, eat pumpkin pie, explore a corn maze, wear a sweater and have an outdoor movie night.
  6. Don’t forget to add a title. In order to write, ‘Fall Time Bucket List,’ on ours we used Color Lustre Metallic Brush Markers.
