Today’s craft is a rawr-ing good time! These simple paper monster puppets start with a free printable template from AR Workshop’s spARe time series. Your kids will be glued to these adorable monsters–and the fun part is, they can create colorful, unique patterns using two of my favorite OOLY products: Switch-eroo Color Changing Markers and Rainbow Sparkle Glitter Markers.
I love how OOLY Switch-eroo markers allow color changes with the magic tips–and OOLY Rainbow Sparkle Glitter markers are just the finishing touch for their inner monsters to shine.
Can you handle the cuteness?
Time Duration: 30 Minutes
Skill Level: Beginning
OOLY Products Needed:
Other Items Needed:
Step 1: Print monster template on 8.5” x 11” paper (we recommend cardstock). You can download the Monster Printable from this link here.
Next, color monster bodies, eyes and legs with OOLY Switch-eroo Color Changing Markers and OOLY Rainbow Sparkle Glitter Markers.
Step 2: Cut out monster bodies, eyes, legs, and rectangle handles.
Step 3: Make an accordion fold with the body piece.
First, fold the head backwards at the top of the mouth, then fold the bottom of the body backwards at the bottom of the mouth.
Line up the head and the bottom and then fold the mouth closed shut (making a fold in the middle of the mouth).
Step 4: Glue on eyes and legs.
Step 5: Fold along the dotted lines of the rectangle handles and then form handles into a semi-circle.
Glue folded edges onto the top and bottom of the folded mouth (backside of the puppet) to create handles.
Now you can really say: I’ve created a monster! This craft is perfect for spARe time, play dates, and birthday parties.
